J.C. "Touché" Evans, popularly known as DogMane, was born October 25, 1945, to the late AL and Jessie Mae Evans in Greenville, MS
At an early age, J.C. accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and became a member of Beasley United Methodist Church under the leadership of Rev. Raines in Drew, MS.
J.C. attended school in the Drew School District and was employed by Modern Line Products in Indianola, MS, for a number of years. Following his retirement, he devoted his time to his life's passion, raising and caring for dogs.
Over 40 years ago, J.C. met Elaine McCain, the love of his life, together they had three children: Dujuan McCain,Sr., Taneka McCain, and Lamarcus McCain Sr. J.C. and Elaine were united in holy matrimony on July 20, 2000.
J.C. was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine McCain Evans; son, Karmoni Franks; parents, Al and Jessie Mae Evans; siblings: James Evans, Jesse Evans, Robert Evans, Daisy Mae McMillion, Rosie Bell, Lillie McIntosh, Annie Armstrong, and Dorothy Rogers.
J.C. entered eternal rest on December 28, 2021, at his home in Ruleville, MS. To cherish his memories, he leaves his children: Cornelius Evans and Tawanna Barnes, both of Indianapolis, IN; Franshawn Frank of Memphis, TN; Dujuan (Anecia) McCain, Sr. of Ruleville, MS; Markita Cousins and Taneka McCain, both of Memphis, TN; and Lamarcus (Tammy) McCain, Sr., Daruius Weeks, Alberteneshia (Kelvin) Palmer, and Rodney McClendon, Jr., all of Ruleville, MS. he is also survived by his siblings: Ruthie Evans of Drew, MS; Shirley ( Joseph) Mitchner of San Antonio, TX; Sarah Jackson of Horn Lake, MS; and Willie D. (Sharon) Evans of Memphis, TN. Finally, J.C. leaves several grandchildren and godchildren, many dear friends, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and TrackSide family.
