James W. Johnson was born on August 16, 1976 in Hollandale, Mississippi to James Thomas and Ms. Florine Johnson.  Affectionately called "Tony" he was the youngest of six brothers and one sister.  He confessed his life as a Christian at an early age at Pleasant Green Baptist Church in Hollandale, Mississippi under the leadership of Pastor Addison.

James received his education at Simmons High School in Hollandale, Mississippi.  He was in Chicago, Illinois when he departed his life here on earth on Saturday, July 9, 2022.

Preceding him in death were his father, James W. Thomas and his brother, Roger Johnson.

Johnson Jr. of Chicago, IL; four brothers, Jerry Johnson (Joshua) of Indianola, MS; Eugene Johnson (Ora) of Arcola, MS; Terry (Lisa) Johnson of Leland, MS, Anthony (Barbara) of Anquilla, MS; two sisters, Jeanette Johnson of Greenville, MS and Chaddie Pearson of Chicago, IL; a special friend, Monique of Chicago, IL; five aunts, Betty and Henrietta of Chicago, IL, Mary Ann and Ophelia of Kansas City, MO, Freddie B. of Hollandale, MS; seven uncles, Henry, Miller and Oliver of Chicago, IL, Sonny Ray and Robert of Hollandale, MS, Willie Michael of Greenville, MS and Author Lee of Portland, OR. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends will also cherish his memories. 'TONY' WILL BE MISSED.
