GREENVILLE

Obituary

Mrs. Ida Mae Glenn was born March 4, 1925 to the late Lucindy and Jack Glenn in Clarksdale, Mississippi.  Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother and a grandson, Charles R. Kirk III.  She was called into eternity on July 8, 2019.

She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and was baptized.  She later became a member of Rose Hill North MB Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Erving and later the late Rev. Clarence Johnson.

"Lil Mama Snook" was a good neighbor, friend and confidant to all that knew her.  She was the neighborhood Mother to all of the neighborhood children.  She would fix lots of sweets for them such as sweet rolls, cinnamon rolls, cheese rolls, tea cakes, and all of which they loved.  They all called her "Lil Mama".  She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was employed with Greenville Public Schools for more than 20 years before retiring as a head cook.

Ida leaves to cherish her memories, a daughter: Cora Lewis of Greenville, MS; three(3) grandchildren: Artee Clark of Houston, TX, Dwayne Jordan of Greenville, MS and Shenita Townsend of Dallas, TX; six (6) great grandchildren; one (1) godson: Eddie Hartfield of Greenville, MS; a special caregiver: Walter Richardson; extended family members and friends.
