Hill Stokes, Jr. was born on September 25, 1947, to Hill Stokes, Sr. and Beatrice Stokes in Jonestown, MS. He was one of seventeen children. Hill Stokes, Jr. began his walk with the Lord later in life. Hill accepted Christ and was baptized at Mary Bethel MB Church. Hill Stokes, Jr. attended Jonestown Elementary, Coahoma Agricultural High School, and he later received his GED and progressed on to Coahoma Community College where he was a star player in football. He went on to become a police officer in Jonestown, MS.

Hill Stokes, Jr. was preceded in death by six (6) sisters: Rosie Lee Daughterty, Vester Mae Rose, Lady B. Stokes, Florida Belle Stokes- Shevls and Celie Stokes- Gooden; eight (8) brothers: L.G. Stokes, Anderson Stokes, L.A. Stokes, T.J. Stokes, George Stokes, Charles Stokes, John Stokes, and Roosevelt Stokes and Eddie Stokes; three (3) grandchildren: Priscilla Strokes, Milton Conway, Jr., and Christopher Conway.

He leaves to cherish his memories: three daughters, Teresa Stokes, Gloria Stokes, Patrina (Derrick) Stokes-Tyler; three sons: Charles Stokes, Charles (Carrie) Stephens and Mack Stokes; 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, one sister Annie B. Ewings, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends.
