Herman Sanders
Sr
Sep 9, 1933 — May 29, 2020
Shaw
Mr. Herman Sanders, Sr journey began on September 9, 1933 in Shaw, MS. He was the youngest of three brothers born to Willie And abbey Thornton Sanders.
Herman was educated in church school. He accepted Jesus as His Lord and Savior at Antioch Baptist Church where he was baptized under the leadership or Rev. A.H. Howard. He was a dedicated member and served faithfully as a deacon until his health failed.
In December of 1953, he married the love of his life, Bertha Mae Latham. This union was blessed with nine beautiful children. Ten years ago she left him to be with The Lord and now they are together again in heaven.
Herman was a very industrious man and worked hard to support his family. He worked many years for Avritt Farm and ended his employment at Delta Pine Land in Scott, MS. Always honest and a man of good rapport and integrity, he made many friends and was well liked by all. Through his industrious and dependable nature, he took pride in all his duties, he gained respect of his supervisors and coworkers. He enjoyed gardening and loved listening to the local and world news.
Herman faced some health challenges. However, he remained steadfast and like the Apostle Paul, whatever state he found himself, he was content and never complained.
On May 29, 2020 at 11:37p.m., Herman traded time for eternity and slipped the surly bonds of this earth. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brother, Willie James and Percy Sanders.
To carry their legacy of love and humility, they leave their children Barbara (Paul) Baker, Herman, Jr. (Vicky), Rosella, Eugene (HOpe), Yvonne (Larry) Williams, Deloris, Earnest, Erica, and Karoyln (Dwayne) Jackson. 20 grandchildren; Nikki, Quindrick, Frankie, Nedra, Shayla, Ashley, LaMardrick, Gee, Corey, Raina, Dale, L.A., Tedra, Abbey, Kendall, Keyshawn, Dwayne, Datyn, and Khyia. 23 great-grandchildren, one nephew Robert Sanders, two sister in law Verlie Moore of Shaw, MS, and Judy ( James) hall Toledo, OH and many other relatives and friends.
