Georgia Lee Terry of Cleveland, Mississippi passed away peacefully on June 16, 2026 at the age of 86.

Born on February 15, 1940 in Alligator, Mississippi.  Georgia was the beloved daughter of the late Benjamin and Mary Hardrict.  She spent her early years helping her family as a sharecropper before venturing north in search of new opportunities by living and working in Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan.  In 1974, she returned to Cleveland, Mississippi, the place she proudly called home.

Georgia was united in holy matrimony with James Terry in 1957 and together they shared many cherished years until his passing in 1969.  Through life's joys and hardships, Georgia remained a woman of strength, perseverance, and unwavering love for her family.

She found happiness in life's simple pleasures; whether tending to her garden, completing puzzle books, watching her favorite westerns, or spending precious time with her grandchildren.  Georgia's days were filled with warmth, laughter and love.  Her gentle spirit and enduring wisdom touched the lives of all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by:  her parents, Benjamin and Mary Hardrict; her husband, James Terry; her brothers, Benjamin Hardrict, Freddie Hardrict and Milton Hardrict; her sisters, Willie Ruth Blair and Rosie L. Hollingsworth; her sons, Larry Howard and James Terry, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memories: her loving sister, Lilly Jackson; her daughters, Ollie, Martha (Percy Sr.), Mary (Kelvin), Winnie and Gail; her son, Murphy Jr. (Julia); 20 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
