Georgia Ruth Bell-McKinney was born on September 14, 1964 in Shelby, MS to the late Essie Mae and George Bell, Sr.  She transitioned from this earthly home on Wednesday, August 7, 2020.  She is preceded ni death by her sister, Annie Mae Bell-Douglas, Elenor Leflore and a niece Loria (Tammy) Douglas.

Georgia accepted Christ into her life at an early age at Union Hill M.B. Church in Shelby; later joining St. Peter's Rock of Shelby, MS where she song so beautifully in the choir.

Georgia Ruth was a kind, loving person to her husband, kids, family and friends.  She had a smile that would light up a room and a caring heart for anyone in need.  During her spare time, she loved to cook for her family, enjoy the company of her friends and most of all singing ("If I Had Wings").

George attended Broad Street High School where she graduated with the class of 1983.  She returned to her alma mater ( Broad Street High School/Northside Consolidation High School) where she was employed for many years as Special Education Assistant.

Her life and memories will live on in the heart of her husband; Larry McKinney, daughter, Stephanie Bell of Greenwood, MS, son; Lakedrie Bell of Shelby, MS, 5 sister Ernestine Monix of Chicago, ILL; Georgia M. Yound, Marsha (Andrew) Scott, Mary Alice Gorman all of Shelby, MS; Majorie (Mickel) Davis of Indianola, MS. 2 brothers, George Bell, Jr of Laurel, MS and David (Florence) Gorman of Temple, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
