George Edward Ivy Sr. was born on May 14, 1946 to Albert Ivy Sr. and Mary Miller, who preceded him in death. George was born in Ruleville, MS.  He departed this life on September 28, 2019.  He also had two sons to precede him in death, Marcus Conrod and George Ivy, Jr.  He also had seven siblings.  Four sisters and two brothers to precede him in death, Rosanna Ivy, Hattie B. Ivy, Nellie B. Robinson and Jenny Ivy.  Eddie Lee Livy and Albert Ivy Jr.

George moved to Chicago, IL when he was 11 years old.  After that he moved to California where he was 19 years old.  He decided to move back to Mississippi where he wanted to live his life.

He was a loving person; he always made people feel special.  He loved to listen to music.  In his younger day he as a DJ.

He leaves to cherish all his memories: a loving wife, Gloristine Thompson of Ruleville, MS; one brother, Thomas Ivy of Childress, AR; two sons Lorenzo(Catherine) Thompson of Tupelo, MS, Byron(British) Thompson of Ruleville, MS; four daughters, Georgetta Ivy, Rochelle(Larry) Hill, Latonya(Will) Ivy all of California; and Tenisha(Jeffrey) Ivy of Ruleville, MS; one brother-in-law, Sylvester (Rose Mary) Conrod; nine sister-in-laws Celestina Brooks, Easy B.(Author) Hicks, Lucilla Taylor, Carrie Sanders, Gerline Conrod, Sylvia Ivy, Bobbie Conrod, Laverne Conrod and Mattie Conrod; 29 grandkids and 23 great grand kids; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
