George Henry, Jr. was born on October 12, 1955 in Lake Village, AR into the family of the late George Henry, Sr. and Roberta Matthews Morgan. He graduated from Lakeside High School in 1973, After high school, he enrolled in Philander Smith College in Little Rock, AR. He entered into the United States Air Force in 1976. After leaving the Air Force, George enrolled at the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff, where he met the love of his life, Ruth Hart Henry. George and Ruth married in the summer of 1979. Their marriage of 35 years created a son, Julian Henry, and a daughter, Kimberly Hardy. George's service to his nation did not end in the 70's. He later enrolled in the United States Army. He also sreved the City of Greenville as a Fireman for the Greenville Fire Department, where he retired as a Caption. He was also a Certified EMT.
