Florence G. Walker was born February 12,1931, in Durant, Mississippi to the late Rev. George Willie Williams and Lillie (Diggens) Williams.
Florence accepted Christ at an early age. Florence moved to Greenville, Mississippi in the late forties and united with St. Peters M.B. Church, Pastor E.C Williams, for 50 years. She later joined the Potter's House M.B. Church under the leadership of Rev. Freddie C. Hall, Sr. where she worked faithfully for many years on the Mother Board, Pastor Aide Committee and choir.
Florence worked in housekeeping in Greenville, Mississippi for many years before retiring in 2012. Florence married the late Horace Walker in August 1986.
She was preceded in death by her husband Horace Walker, by her parents Rev. George and Lillie Williams, five brothers Willie Williams, Robert Williams, Morris Williams, Clifton Williams, and Jahaven Williams. Four sisters: Cora Trotter, Velma Gibson, Geneva Bell, and Lillie Williams.
Florence leaves to cherish her memory three sons: Leon(Earnestine) Williams of Elgin, IL, Nathaniel (Tommie) Griffin, Sr. of South Elgin. IL, and Cleotha "Cleo" (Martha) Griffin of Elgin, IL. Florence had grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and a nephew and friends. Special family: Norma (John) Richards, Cole, Amy, Taylor, Neal, Olivia, DeLong, and longtime friend Irene Parrish.
