Obituary

Evonne Hollingsworth Thompson Davis was born July 31, 1954 to Rosie and Roosevelt Hollingsworth.  She accepted Christ at a young age.  She was educated in the Cleveland School District.  She loved the East Side School Trojans, and she was a member of the East Side High School class of 1974.  After the birth of her daughter, Yshelia, she attended Coahoma Junior College.

During college, she fell in love and married Jerome Joseph Thompson after he returned from the Vietnam War.  To this union, two children were born-Yolanda Renee Thompson and Jerome Thompson, II.  Later, she met Talmadge Davis, Jr. and was married to him for 38 years.

Evonne was a dedicated and hard worker to Color Tile and Baxter's Travenol for many years.  She also enjoyed helping with delivering food during the holidays with the Cleveland Masonic Lodge and Eastern Stars.

She was preceded in death by both husbands, Jerome Thompson, Sr. and Talmadge Davis, Jr., a son, Jerome Thompson, II, her parents, Rosie and Theodore Hollingsworth, a sister, Marylin Sue Johnson, two brothers, Charles and Freddie Hollingsworth.

She leaves to cherish her memories, two daughters, Yshelia (David) Perry and Yolanda Renee Thompson, a bonus son/nephew, Ronnie Hollingsworth, eight sisters, Mary Earl Hollingsworth, Deloris (JW) Hollingsworth Foster, Janet Chatman, Alice (Daryl) Honorable, Bettye Hollingsworth, Janice (Joe) Johnson, Gladys (George) Bell, Leradell Hollingsworth; three brothers, James Hollingsworth, Lonnie Hollingsworth, and Bobby Hollingsworth; nine grandkids, Lagarius Thompson, Meshia Thompson, Amber Perry, Michael Thompson, Jeremy Matthews, Jalontae Thompson, David Perry, Jr., Javita Thomspon, and Lonnald Carter, and two great grandchildren, Lanaya and Jaxton; one aunt, Lilly Jackson, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She was loved by many.
