Obituary

Evelyn "Nina" Townsend Rogers was born on January 7, 1954 to the late Alexander and Ella Townsend.  She dedicated her life to the Lord at an early age and was a lifetime member of William Chapel Church in Ruleville, MS.  She was a dedicated mother, sister and friend.  She had a successful career as a beautician and an entrepreneur at Jap's Disco, where she is best known for the Jap's Burger.

Evelyn was proceeded in death by her beloved son, Eric Townsend, brother, Alexander Townsend, Jr., and parents, Alexander and Ella Townsend.  She leaves to cherish her memories, two sons, Toris (Precious) Townsend and Alexander Rogers.  Her siblings, Mary Hudson of Ruleville, Erma (David) Townsend Foster of Walls, MS, Andre (Pamela) Townsend of Ruleville, MS, Elmer Turner of Ruleville, MS, Albert (Lillie) Conway of Greenwood, MS, Eddie (Dorothy) Clay of Dallas, Texas, Napolean (Yolunda) Turner of Sacramento, California, and Tavaris Surnery of Oklahoma, 14 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and community associates.
