Ella Weese Davis was born on November 22, 1935 to the union of Ed Smith, Sr. and Lizza Dean Smith.  She accepted the Lord Jesus as her Savior at an early age.  She joined Mount Moriah Church in Shaw, Mississippi.  She later moved to Merigold, Mississippi and joined the family of First Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. E. L. Green.  She remained a member for over forty years currently under the leadership of Rev. Bobby L. Williams.  She remained faithful member until her health failed.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Davis, Sr.  She later married Willie Lee Thomas who also preceded her in death.  Other family who preceded her in death are two sisters, Dorothy Mae Bland and Gertrude Manuel; two brothers, Ed Smith, Jr. and Johnny Smith; one son, Otis Seals Davis.

She leaves to cherish her memories one brother, Lonnie Smith; eight children, Willie(Barbara) Davis and Isaac(Elzina) Davis of Mound Bayou, MS., Joseph(Lawanda) Davis of Indianola, MS, Elizabeth Davis of Cleveland, MS, Linda Faye Davis, Johnny F(Linda) Thomas of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Jim Earl(Ursula) Thomas of Cordova, Tennessee and Shirley Ann Denise Thomas of Cleveland, MS.

She also leave a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends, and a special sister-in-law, Alice(James) Robinson.
