Dorothy Jean Pegues was born on December 31, 1945 to the late John and Essie Norris.  She obeyed the gospel at an early age at Clarks Street Church of Christ under the leadership of Bro. James A. Hadley, Sr.  She continued her faith in Christ at Lincoln Garden Church of Christ under the leadership of Bro. Taurean Morton until death.  She made her transition from this life and entered into eternal life on January 08, 2021 at 7:30 PM at Bolivar Medical Center in Cleveland, MS.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents John and Essie Norris, her son, Tony Pegues, four brothers Wendell Norris, Eddie Norris, Willie Norris and John Norris, Jr. and one sister Johnnie Mae Jenkins.

Dorothy united into Holy Matrimony to Willie Henry Pegues in 1964, to this union five daughters and two sons were born.  She loved and enjoyed cooking, singing, listening to music and being with family.

Dorothy's memories will live on in the lives of her loved ones:  her five daughters, Deborah(David) Taylor of Drew, MS, Linda Pegues of Jackson, MS, Gloria (Parnell) Pegues, Bobbie Pegues, Dorothy (Eddie) Pegues of Memphis, TN; one son, Willie(Diane) Pegues, Jr. of Cleveland, MS: four sisters, Mattie Watson, Genell Campbell, Shirley Hooper all of Cleveland, MS and Linda (Roosevelt) Dudley of Walls, MS; two brothers, Odell (Gloria) Norris of Cartersville, GA and Billy (Tiffany) Norris of Cleveland, MS, a son-in-law, Wesley Taylor, a special friend Johnny Ball, twenty two grandchildren, thirty five great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
