Obituary

On June 17, 2026, our beloved mom, sister, grandmother, family member, and friend left her earthly home. Doris Thomas at 65 years old passed away peacefully at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS. She was born to the late James Rogers Sr. and Rosie Sims.

She attended school at Amanda Elzy High School in Greenwood, MS. Growing up she loved to spend special time with her family and friends. She enjoyed cooking for her family and putting together what we like to call "get together" for those she loved the most. Doris often loved to call her sisters, friends, and a few close cousins over to her home just to sit with her to spend quality time. A very family-oriented woman she was. Doris was very quiet, soft-spoken person, gentle and sweet. Occasionally, if she had any reason to be feisty; then she'd be exactly that. Doris was very loving with a warm embrace, and it showed during every encounter with her.

Doris lived her life with no regrets. She had a significant amount of strength that helped her through many different trying times and challenges, which made her the matriarchs of the family. Her very unique personality made her so easy to love; her legacy will forever live through those she touched, raised, and nurtured.

She was proceeded in death by her parents James Rogers Sr. and Rosie Macking. Her granddaughter Hakishianna :Keshia" Webb. Her three brothers, Jeffrey "Gap" Armstrong, James "Polly" Rogers Jr. and James Rogers III. Her sister, Shinetta Rogers and her nephew Kentrell Talton Rogers and a special cousin Shirley Palmer.

She leaves behind to share her memory: her two daughters, Tosha and Ambria Rogers of Ruleville, MS; two granddaughters: Adrianna and Arianna Rogers of Ruleville. Four sisters, Brenda Rogers, Debra Rogers, Vicky Rogers of Ruleville and Shelia Rogers of Cleveland, MS and a bonus sister, Donna Watson of Ruleville, MS. Her two best friends Gail Collier and Lizzie Price. A special cousin, Artie "Gaye" Ford and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
