Doris Gordon O'Braint was born July 18, 1938 in Merigold, MS, to John Gordon and Cora Bell Mitchell who preceded her in death. Three brothers and six sisters also preceded her in death.

Doris confessed in Christ at an early age and kept the faith until she departed this life on June 5, 2020 at her home in Merigold, MS.

Doris was united in holy matrimony to John d. O'Braint, who preceded her in death. To this union six children were born. One daughter, Judy O'Braint preceded her in death.

She leaves to cherish her memories, two sons; Jessie( Bessie) O'Braint of Mound Bayou, MS and Nakia O'Braint of Merigold, MS. three daughters: Shirley(James) Brown of Cleveland, MS , Alice (Carey) O'Braint- Peterson of Canton,MS, and Keller O'Braint of Merigold, MS. A special niece and nephew that she raised as her own, LaShonda Pruitt of Mound Bayou, MS, and Lydell Sones of Evansville, Indiana; one sister Elizabeth( Lonnie) Lynch of Merigold, MS; Two sisters-in-law; Velma Gordon of Shelby, MS, and Charlene Gordon of Memphis, TN; 27 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members and friends.
