David "Sonny" Asberry passed away Monday, May 4, 2026 @ Sharkey Issaquena Nursing Home.

Asberry (63) was born Nitta Yuma, MS to Ms. Pearlie Mae Johnson.  He is preceded in death by his mother, Pearlie Mae Johnson, aunts and uncles Arthur and Ethel Mitchell, Emma "T-baby" and Richard Warren Sr.

He leaves to cherish his memory 3 sisters:  Earline Asberry, Bobbie Johnson and Sandra (Johnson) Knight along with a host of nieces and nephews including Ashley Johnson, Quinyatta Knight (Earnest), Latrice Knight, Jerimiah Johnson ( Carrie), and Trevor Asberry.
