Charlie Henry Griffin, Jr., born December 15, 1957 to the late Charlie and Vivian Griffin at Shelby Community Hospital in Shelby, Mississippi. He confessed his life in Christ at an early age. Charlie for years was a member of the Macedonia Missionary Baptist church under the leadership of the late Rev. E.L. Young and later, he was a member of The Sunrise Missionary Baptist Church in Duncan, under the leadership of Rev. Scott Alexander where he served as Head Deacon until he departed. Charlie began his career as a Correctional Officer with the Mississippi Department of Corrections. He joined the Bolivar County Sheriff Department in 1980 as a jailer. During his tenure he was a Deputy Sheriff, and Investigator and retiring from the Sheriff Department as Chief Investigator in December 2011. Charlie was also employed as a Federal Security Court Officer in Greenville until his health failed. Charlie graduated from Broad Street High School in 1975. He attended Alcorn State university for two years. In 1995, Charlie was united in holy matrimony to Betty Hicks, and to this union one child was born.
