Charles H.
Walker
Nov 24, 1928 — Apr 14, 2020
Pace
Charles Henry Walker was born to the late Sam Henry Walker and Rosie Taylor Lloyd. He was an only child. He was preceded in death by his father Sam Henry Walker, his mother Rosie Taylor Lloyd; his wife, Helen C. Walker and a son, Wilbert Gillespie.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory: two sons, Robert Woods of Wesson, MS and Kenneth Wade of Panama City, Panama; one daughter, Cris (Glenn) Miller of Cleveland, MS. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
A Time To Plant
Charles was baptized in 1961 at the Spangle Banner M.B. Church where he remained until he was called home. He loved to sing. He sang in gospel groups for many years. One of those groups was the Swan Silver Tones. He would go to the radio station in Cleveland every Sunday morning to sing gospel for 15 minutes with Robert and David as back-up. He also traveled to other states to sing. Later, he accepted his call to preach the word.
A Time To Die
On Tuesday, April 14, 2020 God in His infinite wisdom saw fit to call Charles home for a much-needed rest. He fought a good fight, he finished his course, and he kept the faith.
