Life & Legacy of Charles Williams, Jr.

Charles Williams, Jr. was born April 12, 1953 in Greenville, Mississippi to the late Charles and Almarie Williams Sr.  He transitioned from his earthly home on Tuesday, February 3, 2026.

Charles grew up in Greenville, Mississippi, and graduated from Greenville High School in 1971.  Upon graduation, he received an associate degree from Moorhead Community College in Moorhead, Mississippi.  He was baptized early in his life by Rev. R.T. Strong at Pilgrim Home Baptist Church.  He was affectionately known to his family as Buddy, and Rawhide to his motorcycle buddies.  He was kind and gentle, and a creative soul.  He married his high school sweetheart Ruth Granada Thomas March 25, 1978, and to this union they were blessed with one daughter, Alexicia.

Ambition and Vision:  Charles was deeply respected for his exceptional business acumen and the tireless drive, which was evident in his work or any endeavor.  Rooted in construction and architecture, his work reflected precision, strength, and purpose.  He left a legacy as solid and enduring as the structures he helped bring to life.  His industrious and graphic skills were so impactful that his mark can be seen in homes, churches, and businesses throughout Greenville and the surrounding areas.  Charles proudly passed these gifts to his daughter, extending his legacy beyond the structures he built.

Work Ethic:  Charles worked tirelessly at Greenville Lumber Company for many years where he was a dedicated employee, always willing to help and serve customers.  He was able to use his skills to assist and advise customers in making decisions about home improvement.

Charles transitioned to community work with WWISCA's Weatherization Program, where he was able to give back to the community by assisting elderly homeowners make decisions about home home improvement.  He later worked as an operator for Texas Gas Transmission and retired from this position in 2020.

Those who proceeded him in death are his parents:  Charles and Almarie Williams, Sr.; Brothers, Talmadge Michael Robinson: Sister; Beverly Ann Anderson; Special Brother:  Carl Douglas Hughes; Uncles:  Lynn Williams, Earl Williams, Sr.; Nephew:  Charles Campbell, Jr.; Niece:  Allison Conway.

Charles's memories will be cherished by his wife:  Ruth Granada Williams of Greenville, MS; Daughter:  Alexicia Marie Williams of Lewisville, TX; Goddaughter:  Mallori (Myron) Marshall of Chicago, Illinois; Brother, Charles (Gloria) Campbell, Sr.; Aunts:  Sadie Fowler, Juanita Manuel Wade; Special Brothers:  Carl Jordan II, Golden Tate Erving (Shawanna) Thomas, Chauncy (Lashanda) Jordan, Sr.; Special Sisters:  Lynda Hughes, Pamela Thomas-Thornton, Karen (Micheal) Mason, Yolunda (Al) Sheppard; Nephews:  Talmadge Micheal Robinson, Keith Robinson, Ricks Anderson, Eli Anderson, Keiver (Temeka) Campbell, Reginald (Lashonda) Campbell, Carey Campbell, Chauncy Jordan II, Josha Jordan; Nieces:  Carol Broadway, Kenya Anderson, Eme Anderson, Simone Anderson, Carla Hughes, Kayla Thomas; and a host of great-nephews, great-nieces, cousins, classmates and friends.
