Ceola Jefferson was born July 29, 1936 in Blaine, Mississippi to Carl and Margaret Willis. She departed this life on Saturday, April 17, 2021, knowing that God is the author and finisher of her life and legacy.
She confessed hope in Christ early in life and enjoyed life to the fullest. She loved spending time with her family, helping and serving other in varied capacities, fishing, and worshipping and praising the Lord. She played a vital role in the marches that took place in the deep south during the Civil Rights Movement. She fought for equality and justice for people of color during those marches. She was also a member of " The Golden Stars Gospel Singing Group."
She was united in holy matrimony to Jodie Jefferson for over forty- six years. She was preceded in death by her husband Jodie Jefferson, and their son Andrew Willis, Manuel Jefferson, Richard Larry Williamson, and Raymond Williamson.
As a resting matriarch of her family, she leaves to cherish many loving memories to her two daughters: Margaret Hudson (Terry) of Ruleville, MS, Gloria Jefferson Moore of Drew, MS; three sons: Jodie Jefferson, Jr., Dennis Jefferson, and Samuel Jefferson who all resides in Drew, MS, as well. Sixteen grandchildren and thirty-nine great grandchildren.
