Our beloved Catherine Williams was born December 12, 1934, in Itta Bena, MS to the union of the late Wille Son Hall and Rosie McCoy Hall.
She was educated in the Greenville Public School system and attended Coleman High School with the class of 1954. She earned her high school equivalence certification and continued her studies at MS Delta Junior College – Manpower Training Program, receiving her certification in Stenography. Mrs. Williams also received her cosmetology license and owned and operated her business, Catherine's Beauty Salon for many years, in Greenville.

Catherine Williams accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age; but it was as a young adult that she began to really study the word of God. In 1983, she accepted the call to ministry and was ordained as an Evangelist.
Because of her love for youth and passion for souls she dedicated her life to outreach in the community and as far as her sphere of influence entailed. She founded the organization, Community Outreach for Youth (COFY). Under this umbrella many ministerial activities were born. One of the evangelistic services include a mobile or sidewalk vacation bible school. She went into the neighborhoods, projects, parks, and detention centers teaching children and youth about Christ. Young people were not only provided the word of God and a lunch, but also treated to a "grandma hug" which many of them stood in line to receive.

Evangelist Catherine's passion also was praying. Her children knew not to disturb her with calls during the 12:00 noon hour because she would be in her prayer closet interceding and lifting people up to the Lord. She was very serious about souls being saved and used every opportunity to witness and pray for people. This passion of prayer soon manifested itself as a radio program which later evolved into a television program, "Prayer Time". This was a weekly program that encouraged those who felt helpless and lost to turn to God for the answers they needed. She shared the gospel with love, never condemning people for the mistakes they made but instead offering the salvation and power of God to them as a solution. Many were impacted by this ministry.

Another passion of hers was "Prison Benevolence". She served as chaplain for the Washington County Regional Correctional Facility for many years. Her heart for prisoners enabled her to see past their mistakes and assured them of God's love for them, as well as a plan He had for their lives to have hope and a future. She visited faithfully sharing the love and word of God with them. Many of them would call and say, "Mama, I'm out!". She would always remind them of the path they should take.

Although her awards and accomplishments were many, she lived and cherished the time spent praying, praising, and pressing towards the mark!!!
She leaves to cherish her memories, her beloved husband of 52 years, Elder Moses Williams; three sons Albert Bailey, Jr., Timothy (Jennifer) Williams, Corddarrell (Angel) Williams of Greenville, MS; 6 daughters, Debra (Cottrell) Bailey Wynne of Dallas, TX, Anita (Albert) Levy Jackson, MS, Mona (Ricky) Tucker, Pamela (James) Billups, and Mosetta Williams, all of Tulsa, OK and Rosie (Darien Lewis) Williams, of Dallas, TX. One daughter-in-law, Dyane (Ronald) Bailey; one sister, Veola Walton of Memphis, TN ,40 grandchildren, and 58 great-grandchildren.
Two children preceded her in death and were there to greet her in glory: Cathy Jo Bailey of Detroit, MI and Ronald Bailey of Tulsa, OK.
