Mother Catherine Johnson was born on August 10, 1928 in Shelby, MS to the late Willie and Viola Johnson. She confessed Christ at an early age at New Prospect M.B. Church. She later joined New Mt. Olive Temple Church in Mound Bayou, MS under the leadership of Pastor Samuel Tolliver
