Carolyn Fipps-Reed, born on November 5, 1987 to Caroline Taylor and Frankie Fipps Sr., was a devoted mother and wife.  She was loving, and a compassionate woman whose life reflected kindness, strength and unwavering faith.  She was known for her sweet and gentle spirit, her warm heart and her genuine love for others.  Carolyn had a special way of making people feel seen and cared for, and her presence brought comfort and joy wherever she went.

She was naturally funny and her jokes could brighten anyone's day.  Her laughter was contagious and she had the ability to turn hard moments into lighter ones with her humor and love.  Along with her joyful personality, she was honest and always spoke her mind.  She believed in telling the truth and standing firm in what was right.

Carolyn was a dedicated and accomplished athlete who excelled in softball, earning Rookie of the Year, All-Area Team Honors, and Best Defensive Player, reflecting her discipline and teamwork.  She believed deeply in education and personal growth, graduating from John F. Kennedy High School in Mound Bayou, Mississippi, where she was active in school and community service through the Youth Advocacy Group and as a proud member of Xi Epsilon, volunteering for causes such as fire safety, cancer awareness, and seatbelt safety.  She continued her commitment to learning by earning her Associate Degree in General Studies from Coahoma Community College and pursuing Professional Studies toward her Bachelor's degree at Mississippi University for Women.  With a heart for service, Carolyn had a deep love for helping others, especially children, and her nurturing spirit guided her career, community involvement, and personal relationships as she found joy in uplifting and making a difference in the lives of others.

Carolyn was a Godly woman who shared a devoted relationship with God.  Her faith guided her path and shaped the way she loved and served others.  She was a member of Mount Moriah Church and her home church, Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church.  She always volunteered and faithfully served as an usher at Pilgrim Rest, welcoming everyone with warmth, humility and love.

On March 23, 2017, Carolyn married Kevin Reed, the love of her life and her partner.  They shared 13 years together, walking through love, growth and even the bumpy roads that life sometimes brings.  Through it all, her love for Kevin never changed.  She stood by him as his wife, his partner, and his support, showing loyalty, strength and devotion.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her great grandmother, Willie Mae Taylor; her uncle, George "Duke" Taylor; and her beloved best friends, Essie Collier and Romona Garner Sutton, whom she now follows into eternal rest and heavenly peace.

Carolyn leaves her love in the hands of her two beautiful children, Dorothy and Robert, and her loving husband, Kevin Reed.  She leaves her cherished memory with her mother, Caroline Taylor, her father and bonus mom, Frankie Fipps, Sr., and Loise Fipps; her five sisters, Lakella Fipps Davenport of Ruleville, MS, Latonya Fields of Cleveland, MS, Demetrice Fields Knight, Jimmelle Fields, and Alleisha Wright of Olive Branch, MS; her three brothers, Frankie Fipps II and Timothy Fipps of Mound Bayou, MS, and Marcus Fields of Olive Branch, MS; and her beloved nephews, Stephen Davenport II, Landon Watts and Manjuel "Micky" Davenport; and her loving cousins; and a host of extended family and friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Above all, Carolyn will be remembered for her sweet and kind heart, her joyful laughter, her unwavering faith, her devotion to her family and her powerful ability tomake things happen.  Her love lives on through her children, her family and all who were blessed to know her.
