Born on July 27, 1967 to the late Nellie Pleasant and Ivory Walker, Carmelvin David Pleasant was a bright light in the world from the very beginning.  As the youngest of ten children, Carmelvin quickly learned the joy of family, laughter and love.  Though life brought him challenges, he never allowed them to dim his spirit or take away his joy.

Although Carmelvin was disabled, he never let that define him.  His radiant smile, humor, and love for life made every room brighter.  He had a way of spreading joy, through his laughter, his cooking, his dancing and his warm spirit.  Known as the life of the party, Carmelvin reminded everyone around him that happiness is a choice made daily.

He loved deeply and showed it in his own special ways.  Whether it was remembering everyone's birthdays, calling just to say hello, or sharing a heartfelt word, Carmelvin had a gift for making others feel seen and loved.  His dream job was to be a telephone operation for a corporation, and he often practiced on the landline, answering imaginary calls with unmatched enthusiasm.  That dream reflected exactly who he was, a man who loved to connect with people, to bring comfort and conversation where he went.

Carmelvin David Pleasant will be remembered for his infectious personality, wide smile, and the joy he carried in his heart.  His presence may no longer be with us, but the love he shared and the memories he created will continue to live in the hearts of all who knew him.

Carmelvin was preceded in death by his beloved brothers, Albert Pleasant, Bennie Pleasant and Samuel Pleasant.  He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted sisters Norma Pleasant of Greenwood, MS, Nancy Hall (Kirk) of Rosedale, MS, Barbara Tanner (David) of Gunnison, MS, Alline Washington (Luther) of Cleveland, MS and Mary Ann Walker of Chicago, IL; and his brothers, Larry Pleasant (Shelly) of Lacy, WA, Freddie Pleasant (Joyce) of Atlanta, GA, L.C. Walker of Greenville, MS and J.C. Walker of Southaven, MS.  He also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, each touched in their own way by his unforgettable soul.
