Obituary

A Time To Be Born Calvin "Sonny" Shotwell was born in Washington County, Greenville, MS, on October 6, 1949 to Rosie Pitts Shotwell and Arthur Lee Shotwell. He was the last of four children. A Time To Work Sonny attended Greenville Public Schools. For a short period of time, in his early age, he worked at the Weddington Elementary School Cafeteria. Later he moved to Chicago, Illinois, where he served as a member of the Johnson and Johnson Hair Care Family. A Time to Plant Sonny confessed a belief in Christ at an early age and was baptized at St. John M.B. Church under the leadership of Reverent M.M. Morris. In his later years, he re-dedicated his life to Christ and joined the Greater Mount Hebrew Church of Chicago, IL under the leadership of Reverend Ledbetter. A Time To Rest Sonny departed this life and entered the peaceful waters of eternity at his home, Monday, December 29, 2014. A Time To Mourn Sonny is preceded in death by his parents Arthur Lee and Rosie Shotwell; his grandparents, Eli and Sarah Pitts; two great nephews, James Watson and Joseph Kennedy, Jr.; and a niece, Sharon Elaine Jett.
