REFLECTIONS OF HER LIFE

Bonnie Dean Willis, commonly known as "Jackie," was born December 29, 1964, to the late Lampton and Ethel Lee Willis. She departed this life on April 21, 2024, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, cooking and wisdom.

Bonnie accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and was a member of Holly Grove Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Dr. Billy Willis. She served as a faithful member.

She attended Drew High School and graduated in 1983. Following her graduation, she enlisted in the United States Army where her love for cooking began. Upon her discharge from the Army, Bonnie began her career in corrections, where she retired in December 2020.

She was a loving person who would give her last to ensure her family was taken care of. Her love for her daughters, grandchildren and family was unmatched. Occasionally, she would set aside time to prepare meals so that her family could all gather in one place to smile, laugh, and talk.

By instilling in her daughters the meaning of love and family, she leaves behind a legacy. With the understanding, that family was everything, she poured out her love and extended a helping hand anytime she could help her family. No matter the task given, she exemplified the true meaning of resilience, perseverance, and strength.

Bonnie leaves to cherish her memory: three loving and devoted daughters, Marquita (Daryl) Lewis, Kenneisha (Curtis) Hayes, and Lashonya (Andre) Mitchell of Southaven, Mississippi and Nesbit, Mississippi; her loving and devoted son, Tumarian (Brittany) Booker of Clarksdale, Mississippi; ten grandchildren, Jakyla, Kcamaria, Janya, Serenity, Liyah, Ava, Tumarian Jr., Ayanna, Curtis Jr., and Bella; four sisters, five brothers, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and a special friend, Mr. Earnest Lee.
