Mr. Billy Joe Duckworth was born on December 12, 1953 in Smith County, Mississippi to the late Leversie Duckworth. Billy was called to his Heavenly Home on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Baptist East Memorial Hospital in Memphis, TN.

Billy worked as a farmer many years for Joe Tranum, he was also employed with Sunflower County Road Department for over 25 years. He loved gardening and spending time with his family.

Billy was preceded in death by his mother, one sister, Versie M. Burchfield, two brothers, Ray and Gerald Duckworth.

Billy leaves to cherish his precious memories, his devoted wife, Marilyn Duckworth of Drew, MS; one son, Billy Duckworth, Jr. of Jackson, MS; four daughters, Sharon Duckworth of Jackson, MS, Lawandra Thompson of Walls, MS, Bineka Thompson of Southaven, MS, Christy Townsend of Greenwood, MS; his buddy JoJo of Drew, MS; three brothers, George Burns of Indianola, MS, Jimmy D. (Lisa) Duckworth of Moss Point, MS, LW ( Mattie) Duckworth of Pascagoula, MS; three sisters, Priscilla Roberts of Pascagoula, Chrisola Duckworth Ocean Springs, MS and Mollie Hicks of Crystal Springs, MS; mother-in-law, Mablean Webb of Drew, MS; eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren. Billy leaves a host of nieces, nephew, cousins, in-laws, and friends, all who will miss his dearly.
