To everything there is a Time......

A time to be born - Mother Beatrice Lee Thornton was born January 17, 1948 to the late George Thornton and Nettie Tolliver in Shaw, MS.

A time to be saved - Beatrice confessed Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age under the leadership of ****

A time to learn - Beatrice received her early education in Bolivar County School in Shaw, MS.  She went on to graduate from Jefferson High School in Vicksburg, MS.  Beatrice later attended vocational school to earn her degree in nursing.

A time to serve - She served as the president of the Mt. Arria Missionary Baptist Church Choir under the leadership of Rev. Smith of Green Grove Missionary Baptist Church.  She was a devoted member and took great pride in speaking at various events.

A time to love - Beatrice married Joe L. Thornton on October 23, 2003.  They were blessed to have shared 42 years of together until death did them part.

A time to reset - Beatrice departed her earthly home to be with her heavenly father on September 23, 2024 in Dallas, TX.  She was preceded in death by her parents, George Thornton and Nettie Tolliver; husband, Joe L. Thornton; two siblings, Leroy Wilson and Catherine Washington; nephew, Dwayne Washington, and great niece, V'shanti Washington.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories; two daughters, Loretta Lee of Cleveland, MS and Vonder Kaye Lee-Massonburg; one son-in-law, Darell Edwin Massonburg of Dallas, TX; one grandchild, Angel Trenee Kelly ( grandma's baby) of Dallas, TX, a blended family of granddaughters; Jayda Massonburg of Houston, TX., Evelyn Massonburg, Angelina Massonburg, and goddaughter, Jackie Senesoury, a special great niece, Diamond Washington of Lewisville, TX. and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends..
