Barbara Ruth Jennings was born on September 13, 1966 to Annie Mae Jennings and Mastone "Buddy" Lucas in Mound Bayou, MS.

Barbara graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in Mound Bayou, MS.  Later she attended Job Corps and from there Barbara moved to Saint Louis, MO.  Barbara furthered her education at St. Louis Community College where she excelled in Child Development.  Barbara had a true passion for working with the children and teaching them life skills.

Barbara also had a passion for working with individuals with disabilities.  While employed with the Special School District Barbara had a great impact on not only students but colleagues as well that resulted in developing many long lasting friendships.

Barbara's excellent caregiving skills did not just end at work they extended to her family as well, whom cherished the most.  She was very family oriented and it brought her immense joy to see her family together.  Outside of family, Barbara was also the life of the party and loved to have a good time.  Those who knew Barbara can without a doubt say that she was the epitome of a kindhearted, strong, passionate, and caring individual.

Barbara leaves to cherish her memory: Johnnie (Husband); sisters-Helen and Tarra; brothers-Lonnie (Betty) and Thomas (Cassandra); three daughters-Lakeisha, Mckayln and Kelsey (the baby of the bunch); two sons-Johnathan (The Apple of her eye and her heartbeat as we call him lol) and Jerron; five grandsons- Thai, Aubrey, Tristan, Kace and Zayn; one granddaughter-Mahliah; and one great granddaughter- JaMira; a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

Preceded in death:  parents- Annie Mae Jennings and "Buddy" Lucas; sisters- Louise Jennings, Katherine Gatlin, Katie Melvin and Regina Rogers-Jennings.
