Mound Bayou

Obituary

Barbara was born on August 2, 1968 at Taborian Hospital in Mound Bayou, Mississippi.  The Lord blessed the late Frank Hayes and Ola Mae McKee-Hayes with a precious baby girl.  They named her Barbara Ann Hayes, but she was affectionately known as Bobbie.  Bobbie was a sweetheart that touched the life of everyone she came in contact with.  She loved her family and friends, but most of all, she loved her grandchildren with her wholeheart.

Bobbie confessed her faith in Christ at an early age at the New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church of Merigold.  Later, she moved her membership to First Baptist Church of Merigold under the leadership of Rev. Bobby L. Williams where she remained a faith member until her death.  She attended East Side High where she was a part of the 1986 graduating class.  She worked for the Bolivar County Headstart.  She worked faithfully in the church kitchen.

In addition to her parents, Bobbie was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Hayes, Jr. and two sisters, Willie Mae and Teran Hayes.

On December 25, 1994, she married the love of her life, Willie Lee Davis.  From this union, they have a total of eleven children.  She leaves to forever cherish her memories her devoted husband of 32 years, eight sons:  Jermaine Hayes of Jackson, MS, Rodney (Tamara) Connolly of Athens, Texas, Ricardo Davis and Dimitri Davis both of Rosemount, Minnesota, Timothy Edmond and Anthony Davis both of Mound Bayou, MS, Willie (Leslie) Davis, III of Southaven, MS and Tyrone Davis of Jackson, MS; three daughters, Tameka Davis of Mound Bayou, MS, Quelencia Shannon of Athens, Texas, and Sheila (Harold) Holiday of Memphis, TN; four brothers, Don (Trena) Hayes of Nashville, TN, Lonnie "Nick" Hayes, Ricky (Cassandra) Hayes, and Duffie (Amy) Hayes all of Merigold, MS; two sisters: Joyce (Henry) Marshall of Shelby, MS and Dorothy Powell of Nashville, TN; 35 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
