Arthur Lee "Goose" Johnson, our dad was born as an only child to our grandparents, Wesley Johnson and Louise Slayton and Houston Armstead. He was also raised by his grandmother, Elnora Slayton, who instilled within him the great love of God, his family and the Catholic Church. He often spoke of so many other qualities she taught him in which he later taught to his own children and grandchildren. He attended and graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic School in 1959. He entered the Army and later attended college. Our dad loved sports. This is how he acquired the nickname Goose.
