Ardelia Brown was born June 22, 1945 to the late Goldy Brown Sr. and Viola Kyles Brown in Pace, Mississippi.  She accepted Christ at an early age becoming a member of Jericho Missionary Baptist Church in Champaign, Illinois for over 20 years.

Ardelia went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on the early morning of Sunday, July 28, 2019, where she will be greeted by her parents, 2 sisters, Johnnie Lee McKinney, Maggie Mae Brown, and 4 brothers, Harvey Brown, Nelson Brown, Chancey Brown Sr., Charles Brown and a dear son-in-law, Richard Jones.

Ardelia received her formal education in Bolivar County, Mississippi and was a dedicated clerical worker for over 15 years at Mound Bayou Hospital.  She later relocated to Champaign, Illinois and worked at Mercy Hospital for more than 20 years before she retired.

Ardelia was a very caring, loving, energetic and sociable person who loved listening to music, watching her favorite television shows, and spending quality time with her grandchildren. She was also an extraordinary cook and constantly showered her family and friends with her special homemade "hot tamales."

She leaves to cherish her memories 3 sons, Lynn Brown(Cisillia), and Derick Brown(Jennella) both of Champaign, IL and Roy Brown(Bridgett) of Hoschton, GA; 1 daughter, Tonia Jones of Urbana, IL; 2 brothers, Goldy Brown II (Karen) of Beloit, MO and Jerry Brown of Indianapolis, IN; 3 sisters, Lonnie Cannon of Chicago, IL, Margie Brown of Greenwood, MS and Lenora Johnson (Demes Sr.) of Champaign, IL; 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
