Annie Bess Rounds, 82 of Drew departed this life on December 18, 2024 at home under hospice care.  She was born on July 7, 1942 to Irene Hudson and Willie Hudson, in the small town of Leland, MS both of whom proceeded her in death.

Mrs. Annie received her high school equivalent and went on to work for Drew Public Schools as a cook, while raising two children.  A few years later, she met and married James Henry Rounds and to this union five children were born.  A son, Vincent Green, who proceeded her in death.  In 1972, Ms. Annie became the first African American female employed with the city of Drew Police Department as the court clerk & head dispatcher.  She also worked as a crossing guard while working with the city of Drew, MS.  Mrs. Annie retired from the city of Drew around 2006.  She remained present in her community.  She continued her charity work by cooking her homemade cakes and soul food for the people in the community.  She was well respected by many friends and family.

She is survived by her children, Robert Earl Green of Indianapolis, IN, Gary Green, Deidra Green of Burlington, NC, Sandra Green of Robinsonville, MS, Teressa Green-Clark (Willie Clark III whom proceeded her in death) of Lansing, IL, James Round of Drew, MS and Tracy Rounds of Drew, MS.

A brother Jessie Hudson of Alabama and sister Barbara Keelen of Pasco, Washington.

Her siblings who proceeded her in death, Leroy Hudson, Willie Rea Hudson, Correan Hudson, and Earnestine Isom-Johnson.

A special nephew Allen Hudson & a close friend, Themae Wells.

A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends she loved dearly.
