Annie Marie Slater was the fourth child born on Tuesday, March 2, 1954 in Washington County, Leland, Mississippi to the proud parents of Mr. Frank and Mrs. Mary Slater.
She spent her early life in Washington County, Mississippi until the family relocated to Sunflower County, Blaine, Mississippi. She received her early education at Blaine Elementary School. She was a 1972 graduated of the former Ruleville Central High School in Ruleville, Mississippi.
Annie accepted Christ at an early age at Jake Chapel Baptist Church in Blaine, Mississippi under the leadership of the late Reverend A. A. Buckner. In the 1970's she made a decision to become a member of the COGIC faith under the late Bishop Timothy Scott. She rededicated her life to Christ in 2023 under the leadership of Superintendent Walter S. Dixon.
Over the course of her life, Annie held many jobs to support her family. She worked as an apartment manager for Sunbelt, J & A Management, Sims Estate and Sunflower Meadows.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. Frank Henry Slater and Mrs. Mary Starnes Slater; two brothers, James Slater and Frank Brooks and four grandchildren, Anala La'Ree Price, Milenki Elijah Price, Kierston Kordaz Price and Giona Taylor.
On Tuesday, July 4th, God saw that road was getting rough, he sweetly called from life to a sweet reward, Annie Marie Slater Price at Delta Regional Medical Center in Greenville, Mississippi.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories four daughters, C. Toneise (Lonel) Jackson of Ruleville, MS, Georgetta Price of Drew, MS, NyKylia Price and Nevaeh Odell, both of Ruleville, MS; three sons, Lafonte (Christal) Price of Dalton, GA, Marcus Price of Champaign, IL and Antonio (Cassandra) Price of Olive Branch, MS; 17 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; seven brothers, Henry Lee Slater of Sanford, FL, Gerald (Joanne)Slater of Byhalia, MS, Napolen Slater of Cleveland, MS, Shelton (Kathy) Slater, Frank (Marcia) Brooks, Patrick Charles Slater and Kardell Slater all of Sanford, FL; five sisters, Florence Slater Harper and Frankie B. Slater Dixon, both of Ruleville, MS, Mary V. Slater of Cleveland, MS, Patricia Slater-Favors and Sharon Burke, both of Sanford, FL; one aunt, Delores Robinson aka "Tootsie" of St. Louis, MO and one sister-in-law, Elaine Slater of Houston, TX. She also leaves her special lifelong friend for over 20 years, Bobbie Allen.
