Anice Sharp Jordan was the eighth child born to Peter and Mattie Sharp on February 2, 1934 in Baird, MS.  The family moved to quite a few places in between before settling in Shaw, MS in 1946.

She confessed her belief in Christ Jesus and was baptized in 1943 at the age of 8 at Damascus M.B. Church in Skeen, MS by Reverend Fox.

Anice became a member of the Sharp & Parker Singing Group in 1949 at the age of 15, along with her sisters, Mildred and Ruth.  She was a member of the 1952 basketball team and a member of the 1954 graduating class of McEvans High School.

After the passing of her mother in 1952, Anice became the leader of the household and ran a tight ship in the care and control of her siblings and even her father (which they all appreciated).  After high school, she left Shaw and spent time with her older brother, Melvin, in Baltimore, MD for about two years, where they often spent time boating and fishing- their favorite pastime.  She later returned to Shaw to help her father with the family farm.

Anice traveled to Chicago, IL in 1956 and began training to be a welder with Mercoid.  In Chicago, she united in Christian fellowship with Kedvale New Mount Zion Baptist Church and served as President of the Pastor Aide Ministry in 1959 under the leadership of Rev. Calvin Bryant.  Kedvale was a very special church home in Anice's life and serving the Lord with her Kedvale family filled her heart and soul and meant the world to her, more than they will ever know.

She began her favorite pastime of bowling where she met and fell in love with Ivory Pearson II.  They were married in 1957 and to this union a son, Ivory Pearson III, was born.  Anice joined a bowling league and won two championships; this was one of her favorite pastimes, along with music and dancing ( which according to her sister, took a lot of practice to achieve).  She hosted many get-togethers and started our traditional family reunions.  Her hobbies consisted of fishing, cooking, hosting family gatherings, bowling and music.  In 1967, Anice met and married Eddie Jordan.

After retiring in 1997 from McDonald & Miller, Anice moved to Greenville, MS to join her sister, Mildred, and brothers, Melvin and Peter(Bill).  Upon settling in Greenville, she reunited in Christian fellowship with Poplar Grove M.B. Church in Shaw, MS.  At Poplar Grove, she served as a member of the Mother Board.  Serving her church and community brought much joy in Anice's life and did so until she suffered a stroke and Mrs. Charlene Gray stepped in.  She began to attend St. Andrew M.B. Church in Greenville under the leadership of Rev. Will H. Paul, for bible study and quickly bonded with the Church and its members.

Anice became ill in late 2025, but her spirit never faltered.  On April 29, 2026, the Lord whispered, "You have served well", and called her to her heavenly home.  Other than her parents and her husbands, she is preceded in death by her son, Alton Pearson, and a grandson, Marcus Bishop.

Anice leaves to cherish her memories, her son:  Ivory Pearson III of Chicago, IL; grandson, Brandon Bennett of Derry, NH; great granddaughter; Gabriella Bennett of Derry, NH; special niece:  Myria Sharp-Fields of Olive Branch, MS; other nieces:  Hazel Camper of Chicago, IL, Annette Sharp-Lyons of St. Paul, MN, Diana Johnson (Floyd) of Milan, TN, Dannielle K. Taylor of Shaw, MS, and Tawana Davenport of Greenville, MS; nephews:  Leon Ellis (Fannie) and Benny Ellis (Rose Marie) both of Tucson, AZ, Efrem Sharp (Terri) of Calera, AL; sister:  Mildred Ducksworth of Greenville, MS; and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends:  Charlene Gray, Estella Moore, Marie Williams and J.C. Williams.
