Angel was born February 7, 1986 in Cleveland, Mississippi to Willie Ola Davis-Calvert and Michael Tyler.
She accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of the Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Cleveland, Mississippi. There she served as a member of the Junior Usher Ministry. After relocating to North Carolina she became a member of the Sandy Run Missionary Baptist Church of Jacksonville, North Carolina Pastored by Reverend J.D. Churchwell.
