Alma W
Washington
Jul 23, 1953 — Nov 5, 2020
Shaw
Alma was born July 23, 1953 to Oleaver and Lethaniel Ware in Shaw, Mississippi. Her parents preceded her in death, as well as seven of her brothers and her husband, Mason Washington. Alma "Honey" was the ninth child of thirteen children.
She accepted Christ at an early age. Alma attended McEvans High School. Her first job was at a Shaw Sewing Factory. Later, she worked at a manufacturing company in Ruleville, Mississippi until she retired in 1998. She loved children and dogs.
"Honey" loved to cruise Shaw with her riding buddy, Cat Ware. Hollywood had Thelma and Louise, Shaw had Honey and Cat! Alma always had something positive to say about her family.
Alma transitioned and earned her wings on November 5, 2020. She leaves to cherish her memories her longtime companion and friend, William Bryant, her five siblings: Lillie (Andrew) Goines of Conroe, Texas; Essie (Robert) Cail of Bloomington, Illinois; Idella (Robert) James of Chicago, Illinois; Linda (Levester) Taylor of Chicago, Illinois and Willie (Sharon) Ware of Chicago, Illinois; four aunts Elnora Fly, Rebecca Ware, Marie Ware, and Nora Ware; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and two special friends, Catherine "Cat" Ware and Paul Ware.
