Obituary

Alice Marie Hogan Allen entered into life on July 18, 1960, to the late William Henry Hogan and Decie Mae Hogan of Drew, Mississippi. She was a resident of Drew, Mississippi. She was a resident of Drew most of her life.

Alice attended school in Drew, where she ran track and set records alongside her sister. She later moved to Hattiesburg, MS, in the late 70's. While there, she continued to help support her mother and siblings by sending money and clothing each month. Alice moved back home after a few years and began working at the cotton gin in Drew. Alice had many jobs throughout her life. One job included moving to Ruleville, Mississippi, with her four children, working at Sunflower Grocery Store doing what she loved, cooking and feeding people. She also worked at several factories and later at North Sunflower Medical Center, until her health began to decline.

The illness, however, did not stop Alice from caring for others. Alice continued her work by helping others in the community. Whether it was a hug, a ride, conversation, money, or food, she would never turn you away. She became a helping hand and a safe place for so many people. Her selflessness was a bright light for everyone she met. Alice was a strong-willed, determined person who faced every challenge head-on.

Alice was preceded in death by both her parents, Decie Mae (Perkins) Hogan, and father, William Henry Hogan. Daughter, Adrianne Monique Allen, grandson Robert Lubrunski Juan Hogan, two sisters, Bobby Jean Hogan, Gloria Jean (Smoke) Hogan, four brothers, Willie (Hippy) Hogan, Edward (Oatree) Hogan, Donald Hogan, and Tommy Earl Hogan.

Alice leaves to cherish her life partner, Dallice Louis Patt, Drew, MS, two daughters: Letasha (Jesse) Allen-Gresham, Drew, MS, Leketha (Anthony) Williams, Tutwiler, MS, one son, Antoine Allen, Drew, MS, tow sisters: Shirley (Yancy) Lockett Puckett, Ms. Yvonne Hogan, Leland, MS; three brothers: Earl Hogan, Scottsbluf, NB; Sabry Hogan, Drew, MS; Willie Lee Hogan, Drew, MS; 15 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
