Hello

I, Katie Mae Andrews Peacock, greet you in the name of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. At this present time, I would like to tell you about my earth existence. I was born on December 26, 1949, in Drew, MS, to the late Eloise Andrews. My mother, Eloise Andrews, two sisters, Margie Franklin and Maggie Deal Johnson preceded me in death. I joined the New Jerusalem COGIC in Drew, MS, at an early age under the leadership of Elder (now Bishop) T.T. Scott. After moving to Cleveland, I moved my membership to New Morning Star COGIC under the leadership of Elder Walter S. Dixon.

I graduated from Hunter High School in 1967, received my Bachelor of Science Degree in elementary education from Mississippi Valley State University, and received my library certification from Blue Mountain College in TN.

I worked 28 years at McEvans Elementary School in Shaw, MS, five years in the Chicago Public School System, and was currently employed with the Sunflower County School District as a librarian.

My accomplishment were numerous- Teacher of the Year, Coordinator for the school-wide Reading Fair, District Reading Fair, and the Parental Involvement Team with the Shaw School District, president of the Educational Committee at New Morning Star COGIC, and president of MAE-NEA for the Shaw School District.
